Frequently Asked Questions

1. Working With MD SOUND PRODUCTIONS

Should I send a reference track?

A reference track is always helpful. It gives us a clear idea of the sound, tone, and energy you’re aiming for.
If you don’t have one, we’ll choose a suitable reference based on your artistic direction

What file formats should I send for mixing or mastering?

Please send WAV or AIFF files at the highest resolution available.
For mixing, export stems from the start of the timeline.
For mastering, send your final stereo mix without limiting on the master bus.

What sample rate and bit depth should my files be?

Ideally:

  • 44.1 kHz or higher
  • 24‑bit or 32‑bit float

We can work with other formats if needed.

Do you work with all genres?

Yes — all genres are welcome.
Pop, rock, hip‑hop, EDM, acoustic, orchestral, experimental — we adapt to your sound and artistic identity.

Do you offer vocal tuning, timing correction, or editing?

Yes — these services are usually included.
If a project requires extensive editing beyond normal expectations, we’ll discuss it and agree on a fair additional fee.

Can you work with poorly recorded or low‑quality files?

We can improve many issues, but the final result always depends on the source material.
If the recording quality limits what’s possible, we’ll let you know before starting.

2. Delivery, Workflow & File Handling

How long does mixing, mastering, or production take?
  • Mastering: usually within 7 days
  • Mixing: typically 7–14 days
  • Full Production: 7–30 days depending on complexity
  • First draft usually delivered within 1–2 weeks

Rush delivery is available only by personal agreement and only if the compensation reflects the urgency.

How do I receive the final files?

You’ll receive a secure download link containing:

  • final WAV master
  • optional MP3
  • alternate versions (instrumental, acapella, radio edit)
  • streaming‑optimized versions if needed
What formats do you deliver the final master in?

Standard delivery includes:

  • WAV 24‑bit
  • MP3 320 kbps (optional)
  • Streaming‑optimized master (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube) upon request
Do you master for streaming platforms?

Yes — we follow loudness and technical guidelines for:
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, Tidal, radio, and broadcast.

Do you keep backups of my project files?

Yes — we store your files for at least the duration of the project.
Longer storage is possible depending on the project, but not guaranteed indefinitely.
If you want your files deleted earlier, just let us know.

What happens if I send new files after the project has started?

Small updates are fine.
If the new files require significant re‑mixing or re‑editing, we may treat it as a revision or a new stage of the project.
We’ll always discuss this with you before continuing.

How many revisions do I get?

Revisions are unlimited within reason, as described in our Terms & Conditions.
We work until you are satisfied, while keeping the process efficient and focused.

3. Orders, Payments & VAT

How does the EU VAT exemption work?

If you represent a VAT‑registered company located in the EU (excluding Sweden), you can purchase without VAT by entering your valid VAT number during checkout.

  • Private EU customers pay 25% VAT
  • VAT‑registered EU companies (outside Sweden) pay 0% VAT
  • Customers outside the EU pay 0% VAT
What payment methods do you accept?

We accept secure online payments through Stripe, supporting all major credit and debit cards.

For business customers, we also offer direct bank transfer.
Please note that bank transfers delay the start of the project, as work begins only after the payment has been fully received and confirmed.

Can I change or cancel an order after submitting it?

Yes — as long as you contact us within 48 hours of placing your order.
